42 Pieces of Story

In these last weeks, our team has been working on the main character. I began by creating the structure of this and its weapons in detail. Secondly I simplified it to an acceptable size, since it is a simple platform game. In recent days, the technical team took responsibility for introducing the elements created in the gameplay.

42 Pieces of Story, the new game of Group3 Creative Studios, is an action role-playing game to be played on PCs. With a frenetic battle system, 42 Pieces of Story will challenge players to find new ways to defeat their enemies, using the environment to their advantage, different abilities that are unlocked by leveling up while completing quests and killing enemies, throughout a rich and intertwined storyline that will be unfolded by collecting pieces of story scattered throughout different environments. Looking through the most popular RPGs, it is possible to conclude that they lack of player immersion provoked by the hero's relationship with their adventure companions. Instead of a limited script-controlled NPC, our hero will regularly interact with his companion, his metamorphic sword, in a complex way. This interaction will enable players to achieve different playthroughs depending on their decisions. This game is in development by me and the others students of Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa(João Pardal, Iris Rodrigues e Pedro Moura).

These last weeks our team has been working on the movements of the main character, both the basics and the attacks of the various weapons that he uses during the course of the game. The design of the tools is complete since we now find ourselves in the insertion of both these and the enemies that the character will find for the gameplay.

Over the last few weeks, our team has been working on perfecting hero moves and weapons previously created and their abilities against enemies. Regarding npc's we find ourselves choosing the ones that best fit the environment in which the demo is.

In this last stage, our team focused on the creation of the course of the demo and its affinity. From the development of enemies and villages to the final boss and his attacks. This level of the game was demonstrated in this Mojo event in the academic space of Instituto Superior Técnico, where we could demonstrate all the development of the game and discover what we can improve and the high points of this project.
